Supporting Nationals
Heritage Baptist Coalition exists to come alongside national ministries and their leaders—not to replace them, but to strengthen and support the work God has already begun. We serve as a temporary service agency, providing financial support, encouragement, training, counsel, and assistance with specific projects as needs arise. Our goal is always partnership, not dependency.
It is not our mission to relocate national leaders to the United States. Instead, we are committed to helping them thrive where God has called them to serve, among their own people.
A Biblical Model for Ministry
Our approach reflects the New Testament pattern of missions modeled by the Apostle Paul. Paul entered spiritually needy regions to preach, teach, train, and establish churches—then entrusted leadership to qualified local believers. He continued on to new fields, returning when possible to encourage and strengthen the churches and to report back to those who supported the work.
At HBC, we seek to follow this same biblical model, as outlined in Titus 1:5—equipping national leaders to shepherd their own churches with minimal outside presence.
Why We Focus on National Leaders
We believe supporting nationals is the most effective and sustainable approach to missions for several key reasons:
Accountability Through Careful Oversight
As a service agency, HBC is committed to biblical integrity and accountability. Every national leader and project we support goes through a thorough application and vetting process to ensure alignment with our doctrinal convictions and ministry practices. This supervision helps protect both the ministry and those who partner with us.
Encouragement That Strengthens Ministry
Beyond financial support, HBC seeks to be a source of encouragement and inspiration. Our leadership regularly communicates through travel, correspondence, and personal connection to strengthen relationships, support short-term needs, and share the vision of what God is doing in the 10/40 Window.
We would be honored to serve you or your organization by representing trusted national ministries and projects—helping you partner with faithful leaders who are advancing the gospel where it is needed most.

Why We Focus on National Leaders
We believe supporting nationals is the most effective and sustainable approach to missions for several key reasons:
- National leaders already know the language, culture, and history of the people they serve
- Ministries led by nationals can continue even when political climates shift or foreign missionaries are restricted
- Local leadership avoids cultural barriers, financial misconceptions, and dependency that can accompany a strong American presence
- Construction and project costs remain lower when handled by local believers, allowing resources to go further
- Churches established under national leadership are stronger and more stable from the beginning, avoiding difficult leadership transitions
- Supporting national leaders is far more cost-effective, freeing resources for greater gospel impact
- This model allows ministry to multiply, as trained national leaders can establish and oversee many churches and related ministries
